The first novel of Riverworld covers deep waters, but it's a rough ride+Alan Levine aka @CogDog aka Link on #ccourses' pre-course, Blog Talk posted (barked) a call for "syndicated/ distributed / connected course examples."  PS POTcert is already on the list ~ and noted as a prime example of creating courses linking multiple platforms/apps.

+Laura Gibbs' innovative LMS-free online courses, "hubbed" at Online Course Lady (pb wiki) and blogged about here and here are of particular note. Using her public G+ page as personal blog, blog aggregator and hub/PLN is another innovative practice ~ and PLN resource.

From the linked Google Doc, it also looks like Link's collecting links, e.g. examples of past courses as well as current/projected courses under construction. It's a collaborative, so go add connected courses you have taken, are making or have just noted in passing ~ even the un-courses (see below).

Others from *my own trajectory come to mind: Vance Steven's Multiliteracies (all EVO ~ Electronic Village Online ~ for that matter); PLENK2010; CCK10; LAK10; EduMOOC; CMC11; Change11, CFHE12, MOOCMOOC...more (I gave up counting sometime in 2012). I'll check the reader. That's where they're connected.

According the blog post, examples don't have to be courses, although most are. What's the going definition for a course these days anyway? I've been working on something, not a course, syndication loaded (relatively speaking). Distribution and connections need more work (tinkering, wrench beating). Participation, even loosely defined, is problematic. Don't even ask about purpose. It's a scattered mess but that's why I'm in both POTcert and Connected Courses, my un-course or whatever it is in tow. I'd add Chris Newfield's and Michael Meranze's Remaking the University to that list (not just to keep my own "uncourse" company but as a good design example)

The Precarious Faculty blog is the hub for that network, which is not yet well distributed: those dynamics play out differently for not-courses ~ as does participation. Other personal networks overlap but, although predating the adjunct advocacy network are not as far along in the process. Nor should I expect them to follow the same trajectory, take similar shapes. The same "un-course" restraints are in play as well.

For some reason, Philip José Farmer's To Your Scattered Bodies Go and Riverworld come to mind about now.

In the US, this is a “day of action” to lobby the FCC in favor of net neutrality. The new badge appearing on my site will link you to the EFF for tips on how to contact your congresspeople and what to say. I’ve already logged my comments with the FCC; I’ll paste them here if […]

For the past few months, I’ve been thinking through some of the ideas of connected learning for the course I’m building.  And since nothing is better than practical experience, I’ve decided to try out Reclaim Open Learning’s new Connected Courses experience.  The first step is to connect your blog, so here goes.
