I trained as a classical cellist, did performance degrees in both the US and UK and went on to do my PhD at the Royal College of Music focusing on self-efficacy in music, specifically separating self-efficacy for performing and for learning and relating those to self-regulation. I like to think. I authored the Instrumental / Vocal Teaching degrees (not teacher-ed) at the University of Chichester. I played with a not so classical band for a few years and that was fun and liberating. I am very interested in personal agency and fostering self-thinking, self-believing individuals.
